PM Barzani, Falih Fayadh Discuss Erbil-Baghdad Ties

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received on Sunday the Iraqi National Security Advisor Falih Fayadh for talks on the ties between Erbil and Baghdad.

Barzani and Fayadh exchanged views on the relations between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, stressing on the need for stronger efforts to solve the remaining issues between the sides in accordance with the Iraqi Constitution.

The pair further highlighted the need for closer cooperations between the Kurdistan Region's Peshmerga fighters and Iraqi forces in the fight against terrorism in the disputed areas.

Concerning the recent demonstrations in Iraq, both officials reiterated their support to Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi's plans for reforms in his cabinet, while asserting that the protesters' demands should be respected as well.
