As an important and key part of the international coalition against ISIS, the Kurdistan Region see the killing of the Islamic State's head, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, is a major step in the war on terror, and expresses its appreciation for the efforts of America and all those who have in some way participated in the success of that process.
The killing of al-Baghdadi after the elimination of ISIL's succession is an important step, but that in no way means the end of terrorism and the thought and ideology of ISIS. The risk of restoring terrorist movements remains high, and ISIS and other similar groups continue to operate in the region and threaten the security and stability of the whole world. Therefore, it is imperative that the international community continue to cooperate and coordinate to counter terrorism, not only from a military point of view, but also to strengthen its efforts and cooperation to consolidate the education and culture of coexistence, acceptance of others, tolerance and elimination of the ground that spawns terrorism and produces people like Baghdadi.
The Kurdistan Region has made enormous sacrifices to eliminate terrorism. The serious crimes of ISIS in our region and in Iraq have targeted Yazidis, Christians, Muslims and all religious and national components. Cooperation and coordination with the member of the international Coalition is necessary aims to eliminate terrorism and the ideology of ISIS to prevent the emergence and restoration of ISIS and terrorism in the region and to protect security and freedom in the world.
