Kurdistan Region President Meets with Prime Minister of Qatar

Doha, Qatar, 29 October 2019

President Nechirvan Barzani met with Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani. The meeting was held during the Munich Security Conference (MSC)’s Core Group Meeting in Doha.

Barzani, who arrived in Qatar on Monday to attend the Munich Security Conference Core Group meeting, discussed the latest developments in the region with the Qatari premier.

The pair also shed light on the relations between Qatar, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, according to a statement by Barzani's office.

The two officials additionally stressed on further Qatari investments in the Kurdistan Region.

Exchanging views on the relations between Erbil and Baghdad was also on the agenda of the meeting.

Both leaders discussed the latest development in the wider region٫ the relations between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, Qatar’s relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and Qatari investments in the Kurdistan Region.
