President Masoud Barzani, received on Monday a delegation from Al-Rafidain Center for Dialogue in Erbil to discuss the latest developments in Iraq.
During the meeting, officials exchanged views on the current and future political process in Iraq, with Barzani reaffirming his support to the rights of the Iraqi people, but reminding that the legacy of past challenges should not be counted on the current government alone.
He argued that if the Iraqi Constitution was implemented properly, the majority of current issues might have been avoided and that the rights of the people would have been preserved.
The Kurdish leader also noted that the discussions between Erbil and Baghdad are at a good level, making clear to the Iraqi delegation that the Kurdistan Region would only accept an amendment to the Iraqi Constitution if the constitutional rights of the people of Kurdistan Region and all other components are guaranteed.
