Despite a ceasefire deal already between Turkey and other actors on the ground to halt the violence in northern Syria, civilians continue to flee and seek refuge in Kurdistan Region.
According to the Joint Crisis Cooperation Center of Kurdistan Region’s Ministry of Interior, a total of 112 refugees were received on Sunday, 10th November.
The total number of the refugees taken in by Kurdistan Region since early October has reached 15,109, JCC said.
Following Turkey’s military offensive in the Kurdish areas of northern Syria last month, over 300,000 people escaped the border towns and villages, hundreds were killed and many more were wounded.
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) soon ordered preparations to take in refugees. Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) sent tons of humanitarian aid to those who were displaced inside the Syrian Kurdistan.
