PM Barzani Urges Provincial Councils to Assist KRG in Implementing Reform Plan

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has urged the provincial councils to assist his cabinet in implementing the reform program.

Barzani made the call during a meeting with the heads of the provincial councils to discuss the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) plans for reforms.

The Kurdish prime minister highlighted the "important" role of the councils in fulfilling KRG's agenda.

"I was pleased to meet today with the provincial council heads to discuss their important role in delivering the government’s agenda, public services and responding to citizen needs," Barzani said in a statement on his Facebook feed.

The Kurdish premier further pointed out that the Kurdistan Region should shift from a consumerist society to a productive one, noting that the provincial council could play a key role in this regard through monitoring the process.
