Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party Foreign Relations Office (KDP-FRO) visits Netherland

The first day visit to the Netherlands for meetings with the political parties and members of the Dutch Parliament, visited the Parliament in The Hague and met with Sjoerd Sjoerdsma, Head of D66 Foreign Affairs in the Parliament.

During the visit met with the Representative of the Christian Union Party, Joel Voordewind, who is in charge of the party’s Foreign Affairs in the Parliament.

At the meetings brief update on the current developments in Kurdistan Region and Iraq was provided with focuses on challenges and progresses in Baghdad-Erbil relationships, the priorities of the current KRG and issues related to ISIS revival. The Regional dynamics, in particular events in North East Syria and Iran were also discussed.

As the issue of extending the Netherlands military mission in Iraq and Kurdistan Region, will be discussed in the Parliament next month, we welcomed the decision by the Foreign Ministry to support such an extension and called on both parties to support the extension.
