PM Barzani, UK Diplomatic Delegation Discuss KRG Reform Plan

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Tuesday received a delegation from the UK’s foreign office, lead by Director of Middle East & North Africa Stephanie Al-Qaq, to discuss a range of issues, including Erbil’s reform plan.

The British delegation reiterated support for the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and its plan to bring about fundamental reforms, including reforms at the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs.

On Iraq, PM Barzani and Al-Qaq discussed the ongoing protests and agreed that Iraqi PM Adil Abdul Mahdi should have time for a plan to meet the legitimate demands of the protesters.

They also emphasized that violence and unrest in Iraq would not serve the interests of Iraqis and the entire region.
