Despite a ceasefire in the troubled region, the flow of Kurdish refugees escaping their homes in Syrian Kurdistan to seek refuge in Kurdistan Region continues up to the moment.
According to the Joint Crisis Cooperation Center (JCC) of the Kurdistan Regional Government, 108 more refugees were taken in on Wednesday, 27 November alone.
The newly arrived refugees brought the total number of those escaping the Turkish offensive on Syrian Kurdistan to 17,297, JCC confirmed.
Turkey and its allied Syrian Islamist groups launched a massive operation on 9 October against the Syrian Kurdish forces along the northeastern border strip of Syria.
The offensive, criticized by many around the world, displaced over 300,000 civilians and left hundreds killed or injured.
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) soon opened the gates for the flow of the desperate people. It also sent large shipments of humanitarian aid to those internally displaced in Syrian Kurdistan.
