Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Tuesday received KRG’s negotiating team with Baghdad to discuss the talks over budget and oil disputes.
According to an official statement, the negotiating team briefed PM Barzani on the details of a deal they have reached with Iraq’s Ministry of Finance and Economy to secure Erbil’s share from 2020’s budget.
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) said in the statement that it hopes all Kurdistani factions at the Iraqi parliament will support the achievement to be legalized once the budget bill is sent to the parliament.
During the meeting, the negotiating team hailed the achievement by reminding it is the first time ever for Kurds to have a role in the preparation of Iraq’s annual budget bill.
