Barzani Receives Iraqi Parliament Speaker in Erbil

President Masoud Barzani president of ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, on Sunday received Iraq’s Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbusi in Erbil.

During the meeting, Barzani and Halbusi discussed a range of issues pertaining to the ongoing protests in Iraq, and the political hardship in the country.

They also exchanged views on the amendment of a series of laws by the legislature, on top of which comes the amendment to the election law, according to the readout of the meeting.

They agreed that any amendment should, first and foremost, serve the interests of the people.
