The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the federal government of Iraq will resume negotiations over their prolonged disputes, said Omed Sabah, Chief of Staff to the Council of Ministers of Kurdistan Region.
Sabah explained that Prime Minister Barzani asked his Iraqi counterpart to resume the talks in hopes of a durable solution to the Erbil-Baghdad disputes.
According to Sabah, PM Barzani has recently urged the Iraqi government on helping the talks so sign a final agreement.
The Kurdish PM last week received Iraq’s caretaker Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi. They reportedly discussed bilateral ties and frameworks to address their differences.
