President Nechirvan Barzani meets with Turkey’s Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu

President Nechirvan Barzani and the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu reiterated their commitment to further strengthen relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey. The two sides also underlined the importance of cooperation in order to deescalate the regional tensions, aiming to restore peace and stability.

On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum’s 50th Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani held a meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, on Tuesday, January 21.

In the meeting, the Kurdistan Region’s relation with Turkey, the latest developments in Iraq and the broader region, the danger of resurgence of terrorism and the role of D-ISIS Coalition were also discussed.
