PM Barzani and Swedish Ambassador Discuss Bilateral Ties

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Sunday received the Swedish Ambassador to Iraq, Lars Ronas, to discuss a range of issues including the opportunities to bolster ties between Erbil and Stockholm.

According to the readout of the meeting, strengthening economic ties between Kurdistan Region and Sweden topped the agenda of the meeting.

Ambassador Ronas expressed his country’s willingness to encourage the Swedish investors and business owners to increase their investment activities in the Kurdistan Region.

Barzani and Ronas also discussed the current situation in Iraq and across the Middle East.

The Kurdish prime minister also commended the role of the Swedish army as part of the Coalition forces battling the Islamic State (IS).
