US Ambassador visites President Barzani and Commends His Role in Promoting Unity Among Syrian Kurds

The United States has commended the role of President Masoud Barzani President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP),  in promoting unity among the Kurds in Syria.

The message was conveyed by US ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller, during a visit to Barzani in Erbil on Wednesday, where the pair exchanged views on various issues.

They also shed light on the future of the Kurdish nation in Syria, according to a statement by Barzani's office.

Concerning the current evolving situation in Iraq, the influential Kurdish leader stressed on the need to address the demands of the Iraqi people.

The nomination of Mohammed Allawi as Iraq's PM-designate, weeks-long anti-government protests in Baghdad and other major cities, and the relations between Erbil and Washington were also discussed during the meeting.
