PM Barzani Discusses Energy Cooperation with US Secretary Dan Brouillette

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Friday met with US Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette in Munich where they discussed closer cooperations, particularly in the energy sector.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference 2020 in Germany, where the Kurdish PM is set to also meet with several other world leaders.

“My first meeting at Munich Security Conference 2020 was with Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette to discuss how US companies can help the development of the Kurdistan Region's energy sector,” Barzani wrote on Twitter.

“We also considered how the US and KRG should work together to protect regional energy security,” he added.

Brouillette praised the Kurdistan Region and its leadership for the huge progress it has made in the past few years, describing it as “miraculous” development.
