PM Barzani Thanks Germany for Continued Support to Peshmerga

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani received on Saturday a German parliamentary delegation on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, where he thanked Berlin for its continuous support for the Peshmerga forces.

During the meeting, the German delegation, led by Nils Schmid, commended the role of the Kurdistan Region for its efforts to defuse the escalations and restore stability in the region, Barzani's office said in a statement.

They also stressed on the continuation of Germany's military assistance for the Peshmerga forces, who played a major role in defeating the Islamic State (IS) in the past few years.

PM Barzani, in return, expressed gratitude for Berlin's prolonged assistance for the region. He also briefed the German delegation with his cabinet's agenda which makes efforts to diversify its economy and the sources of revenues.
