Kurdistan PM, Iran FM Reiterate Good Neighborly Relations

Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani on Sunday held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif in Munich.

The meeting took place on the third day of the Munich Security Conference 2020 in the southern German city.

PM Barzani and Zarif agreed on obligations of good neighborly relations and mutual respect between Erbil and Tehran, the Kurdish leader said after the meeting.

“We have a common recognition of regional security challenges,” he added.

PM Barzani, accompanied by a delegation from Kurdistan Region, held a series of meetings the day before, including discussions with US secretaries of state and energy, Russian foreign minister, and Arab leaders.
