Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and UK’s Cabinet Secretary and National Security Advisor Mark Sedwill met on Sunday on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
The Kurdish prime minister and British official discussed a range of issues, including the ongoing efforts to eradicate the Islamic State (IS) as well as de-escalation of regional tensions.
“We reaffirmed the strong partnership between the UK and the Kurdistan Region,” PM Barzani wrote about his meeting with Sedwill.
“We will continue working closely together in the fight against ISIS and to de-escalate regional tensions,” he added.
