President Masoud Barzani released a statement and thanked the Iraqi and Kurdistani political parties and expressing his gratitude to all the Kurdistani political forces for unifying their position during the process of granting confidence

I would like to express my thanks and appreciation to all the Kurdistan political forces that have united their ranks and position with regard to granting confidence or not to the new Iraqi government, despite their differing views. The manifestation of this unified position is a historic achievement for the people of Kurdistan and is appreciated.

 

In parallel, I thank the Iraqi national political forces, which prevented the increasing crises in Iraq, with their correct logical positions, from deepening and sliding towards disasters.  Those positions were in appreciation of the democratic principles, and taking into account the demands of the Iraqi components, and an amendment to the path of the political process. Now, Iraq has entered a new stage, in which the opportunity to achieve the legitimate demands of the demonstrators can be provided, and provide the appropriate ground for a comprehensive national consensus, and to ensure rapprochement between all the parties.
