PM Barzani’s visit to Amman comes at the official invitation of Jordan.Jordan has showed readiness to improve its trade and investment ties with the Kurdistan Region, King Abdullah II said on Sunday after receiving PM Masrour Barzani in Amman.
The Kurdish premier arrived in Amman earlier the day after receiving an official invitation by King Abdullah II to visit the country to discuss the relations between the sides.
The two leader further exchanged views on the danger of terrorism in the region, with Barzani stressing on closer cooperations to develop"collective security" in this regard. He also reiterated his support to further strengthen bilateral ties between Erbil and Amman.
"I am looking forward to wide ranging talks, not only on shared challenges faced by the Kurdistan Region and Jordan in terms of the ongoing terrorist threat and what we can do together to improve our collective security, but also to help realise the huge potential to grow our bilateral trade and investment ties in the years to come," he said, according to KRG's Department of Foreign Relations.
He also thanked Jordan for its positive role in providing security in the region.
