President Barzani’s message on 32 anniversary of Halabja chemical attack

On the occasion of the anniversary of the bombardment of the town of Halabja by chemical weapons, President Masoud Barzani published a message on his social networking site (Twitter), which reads:

(The bombing of Halabja with chemical weapons was an extension of a chain of crimes and disasters that the enemies carried out against the people of Kurdistan in order to eradicate and erase it from existence. And because of the injustice and sacrifices of the martyr Halabja, the world became more aware of the sufferings and tragedies of the people of Kurdistan.

The bombing of Halabja with chemical weapons is a deep wound in the body of the people of Kurdistan, and it can never be forgotten.

The people of Kurdistan have the right to demand compensation from the Iraqi state, and it is imperative that the Iraqi government does not continue to neglect this matter, and to compensate those affected by the Anfal and the chemical bombing.

Glory and eternity to the martyrs of Halabja and all the martyrs of the Path to Freedom.)
