The diplomatic missions and Representatives in Kurdistan Region have sent congratulatory massages for Newroz.

21st of March is the Kurdish New Year which is called Newroz. Every Year on this day the Iranian, Kurdish and many more People celebrate Newroz which means the new day and herald the new year and the first day of spring season.

At this day Families and relatives come together and go out for picnics and celebrations wearing traditional Kurdish dress and enjoying traditional food.

This year due to Coronavirus pandemic that spread across the Globe and the measures taken by Kurdistan Regional Government to prevent the spread of the virus, severe restrictions have been put in place to discourage social gatherings. This has also affected Newroz celebrations.

A number of Foreign diplomatic missions in the Region have conveyed messages of congratulations and good will to the people of Kurdistan, even some heads of missions delivered video messages in Kurdish.
