Kurdistan Region President’s Message on the Occasion of Yazidi Midsummer Celebration

On the occasion of the Yazidi Midsummer celebration, I extend my warmest congratulations to our Yazidi sisters and brothers in Kurdistan and around the world, particularly the displaced Yazidis who are still in IDP camps. I hope this celebration brings with it happiness and prosperity for all the Yazidis and the whole of Kurdistan, and I also hope that future celebrations are held in better circumstances.

On this occasion, we remember and honor all our Yazidi sisters and brothers who were targeted by the terrorist groups. We pay tribute to the memories of those who lost their lives and reassure the families and relatives of the abducted ones that we will continue to do our best to locate them and bring them back to their families and work to uncover the fate of the missing others.

I wish all the Yazidis a happy celebration. Hopefully, by the next celebration, all the displaced Yazidis have returned to their homes and their areas reconstructed. Once again Happy Yazidi Midsummer to everyone. I wish you all the happiness and prosperity.
