Thank You letter from the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party

A few weeks ago, brigand and outlaw groups attacked the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Baghdad. In addition to burning the headquarters, they insulted the flag of Kurdistan. A number of Iraqi and Kurdish political parties and public figures, as well as diplomatic and international missions, condemned this disgraceful act by issuing statements and messages or sending letters and placing phone calls. They all expressed their resentment at such behavior and actions. Therefore, on behalf of the Political Bureau and the leadership of our party, we extend our thanks and gratitude to all. We highly appreciate the stance that indicates respect for the law, the constitution, progressive civil traditions and respect for rights, freedoms and sanctities of other parties and people.

The actions of such outlaw groups who insult the flag and sanctities of others and create problems are an expression of hatred and rancor. It displays their backwardness in political, social and cultural aspects. It is a reflection of their feeling of hostility towards freedom and peoples' rights. It is an extension of that inhuman culture that carried out Anfal, chemical bombardments and the burning of 4,500 Kurdish villages. An addition to a policy that has made them believe that all sacred things are manifested in them alone. They believe to be in command of all the facts, and have no respect to values, sanctity, freedom and human value to others. They violate the law, human rights, and the freedom of citizens in broad daylight and in public. They conduct without scruples and transgress the sanctities of people.

Once again we thank and appreciate the noble stance from representatives, public figures, and parties. We commend the position and nobility of all those who stood against these backward and unhuman values.
