President Masoud Barzani received a high-level military and political delegation from the United Kingdom

President Masoud Barzani received, in Salahaddin, on November 18, 2020, a high-level military and political delegation from the United Kingdom. The delegation included Lieutenant General John Lorimer, the Supreme Adviser to the British Defense Minister, Stephen Hickey, the British Ambassador to Iraq and a number of British Ministry of Defense and British Embassy Advisors Iraq.

During the meeting views were exchanged on the latest developments in the region and light was shed on the relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad.

In the same meeting, the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region and Britain, and it was emphasized that Britain will continue military training to the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces.

The dangers of terrorism and the resurgence of ISIS were also the focus of the meeting.
