Kurdistan mourns its Sun

Dr. Rowsch Nuri Shaways, the man who was a shining star in the world of Kurdistan and Iraq politics, passed away on Monday, 15 February at the age of 74 after a long battle with illness. Leader of men, diplomats, organizers, a friend, father and a Peshmerga. Fierce advocate for his believe and huge patriot who fought hard to improve the Kurdistan Region's fortune, serving his people as a freedom fighter, later as a parliamentarian and head of the Kurdistan Government and in his later years as Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq. We mourn the departure of a true legend and offer solace to Kurdistan and all whom have been touched by his immense character. Often we hear of people described as larger than life but seldom we find anyone more worthy of the title than Dr. Rowsch.
