President Masoud Barzani received American ambassador to Iraq

Monday, April 12, 2021; President Masoud Barzani welcomed Matthew Tuller, the US ambassador to Iraq.

The meeting was attended by US Consul Robert Waller in Erbil, where the political situation in Iraq and the latest changes and developments in the Iraqi political process were discussed.

His Excellency President Barzani and Mr. Tuller regarded the 2021 Iraqi budget law approval as a positive step in the right direction. They also reflected on the latest round of the strategic dialogue and emphasized the need of by the parties to spur on the between the United States and Iraq.

Light was shed on the ongoing dangers and threats of terroriscooperationm in Iraq and Syria, the sides have highlighted importance of decisive action by the coalition against terror to achieve stability was considered necessary.

Relations between the Kurdistan Region and the United States were another focus of the meeting, and both sides stressed the importance of cooperation and collaboration between United States and the Kurdistan Region to further benefit the two nations.
