President Masoud Barzani Receives Iraqi President in Erbil

Kurdish prominent leader and the President of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Masoud Barzani, on Thursday received Iraqi President Barham Salih in Erbil.

President Barzani and President Salih exchanged views on the current challenges facing Iraq, including its political process as well as the forthcoming snap elections.

Concerning the relations between Erbil and Baghdad, both officials agreed that resolving the prolonged disputes would help stability and progress across Iraq, according to the readout of the meeting.

Batham Salih arrived in Erbil on Thursday night and he was received by his Kurdish counterpart, Nechirvan Barzani, at the Erbil International Airport.

He met with other Kurdish officials while in Erbil, including Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.
