Iraqi Prime Minister ordered Iraqi forces to speed up cooperation with Peshmerga forces to face ISIS.

Iraqi security forces are cooperating with Peshmerga forces, especially in Kurdistani territory outside of the Kurdistan Region to confront ISIS movement. 

 

Prime Minister Mustafa Kazmi stressed the coordination between Iraqi security forces and Peshmerga forces, especially in the Kurdistani territory outside of Kurdistan Region.

 

In a meeting with the military commanders, in the presence of General Jamal Eminki, the Chief of the General Staff and Jabbar Yawar, the secretary-general of the Peshmerga ministry, the Peshmerga army, Prime Minister Mustafa Kazmi and the commander-in-chief of the Iraqi armed forces, PM Kazmi ordered intelligence agencies and security forces to take necessary actions to defeat ISIS.

 

General Jabbar Yawar, the secretary-general of the Peshmerga ministry said in a statement, “The meeting was specific to the serious threats posed by ISIS terrorists during the past period due to the security and military vacuum, which killed several Peshmerga of the 10th Brigade. The Ministry of Peshmerga and the soldiers of the Federal Government's Defense Ministry, so it was decided to further activate the cooperation and joint work of the joint committees and joint teams between the army and the Peshmerga forces in the joint centers between KRG and Federal Government, filling the gaps and exchanging intelligence information, to prevent "In the repetition of such activities, further strengthening the security belts and increasing our joint operations."

 

Prime Minister Mustafa Kazmi supervised the meeting, which was also attended by minister of defense, interior and finance of the federal government.

 

This comes at a time when ISIS movements have increased in several areas in Iraq and Kurdistan. Military experts are citing the main reason for this is security gap between two forces.
