Kurdistan Region’s Peshmerga Ministry has sent a delegation to Baghdad where they are expected to discuss about the military cooperations between the regional and federal governments.
The Kurdish delegation will meet with counterparts at the Iraqi Defense Ministry to set the plan for establishing joint forces.
Peshmerga officials previously said Erbil and Baghdad had reached an agreement to form two joint brigades and conduct joint operations against the security threats in the Kurdish disputed areas.
As part of the efforts to address the security concerns in Nineveh, Kirkuk, Khanaqin, and Makhmour, Peshmerga Ministry and Iraq’s Defense Ministry have opened Joint Cooperation Centers, where military officers from both sides share intelligence and design security plans.
