President Masoud Barzani receives the Governor of Basra

On May 31, 2021, President Masoud Barzani received the Governor of Basra, Assad al-Eridani. During the meeting, views were exchanged on the political situation in Iraq and the challenges facing the political process. The services and living conditions in Basra and the conditions of all citizens in that region were also highlighted.

For his part, the Governor of Basra expressed his appreciation for the prosperity and progress achieved in the Kurdistan Region and wished to benefit from the Region’s experience in various fields.

In the same meeting, it was stressed the need to promote a culture of coexistence among Iraqi’s and to develop historical relations between the residents of the Kurdistan Region, Basra Governorate and other provinces in Southern Iraq.
