President Masoud Barzani received, on June 23, 2021 in Salahaddin, Amb. Tone Allere Ambassador of Norway to Iraq.

During the meeting, they discussed the political situation in Iraq, the latest developments at the regional level, and the dangers and threats of terrorists in Syria and Iraq. The upcoming elections in Iraq and the challenges facing the political process in Iraq were also highlighted.

In the same meeting, the formation of military coordination centers between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi security forces, as well as the organization of the ranks of the Peshmerga and the reforms in the Ministry of Peshmerga were described as positive steps.

Relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Kingdom of Norway were another focus of the meeting in which President Barzani expressed his thanks for the effective Norwegian role in helping the displaced, contributing to charitable work and participating in the international coalition in the war against ISIS.
