Ambassador Paula Ganly, visited Hoshyar Zebari, member of the Political Bureau of the KDP.

Australian ambassador to Iraq, visited Hoshyar Zebari, Mr Hoshyar Siwaily Head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Foreign Relations Office also attended the meeting.  Mr Zebari conveyed the KDP gratitude and appreciation to Madam Ambassador for the help and assistance that Australia has provided to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region over the past years.

During the meeting political, security and electoral developments in the country were discussed.  They exchanged views on the recent security threats against the Region by armed militia groups with the intention of threatening the security and territorial stability of the Kurdistan Region.

Both sides highlighted the importance of dialogue to resolve the issues and the differences that face the Iraqis. Future cooperation between the International community, the Federal Government and the Kurdistan Region was also part of the discussions.
