Coalition Forces to Work with Kurdistan to Deter Attacks: Spokesperson

The US-led Global Coalition will work with the Kurdistan Region to deter the attacks which target the people of the region, said Coalition Spokesperson Wayne Marotto.

The statement comes after an explosive-laden drone attack on Tuesday night targeted Erbil International Airport where the Coalition forces are also located.

“The International Coalition for Operation Inherent Resolve continues to support our partners in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the Peshmerga Forces,” Marotto wrote on Twitter.

“We will continue to work together to deter the attacks against the KRI and its people. OMGs & Daesh will not prevail,” he added.

Kurdistan Region’s Counter-Terrorism Directorate said in a statement last night that the latest attack on the Kurdish capital city caused no casualties or serious material damage.
