A message from President Masoud Barzani

The election of the Speaker of the Iraqi House of Representatives and two deputies was an important step in Iraq's political process. On this occasion, I congratulate Mr. Mohammed Halbousi, speaker of the House of Representatives, Hakm Zamli and Shakhawan Abdullah. 

 

Congratulations to all members of the House of Representatives, voters and citizens. This step is an encouraging start for directing the political process and the basis for establishing a bright and stable future, at the same time strengthening of the democracy and partnership in Iraq.

 

I would like to thank all the friends and political parties who have kept their promises that lead to today's political process. Today's move by the Iraqi House of Representatives set an opportunity to achieve unity, to turn a new page and to pass challenges. It will also be a gateway to building trust between the coalition and state institutions.
