President Masoud Barzani receives the president of the American commission for religious freedom

On Sunday, January 16, 2022, President Masoud Barzani welcomed Ms. Nadine Mainza, head of the American Commission for Religious Freedom, in Salahaddin.

 

In the meeting, the head of the US Commission for Religious Freedom expressed appreciation for President Barzani's policy and the historical role in deepening religious coexistence and protecting national and religious freedom in Kurdistan. 

 

She also praised the Peshmerga's sacrifices during the war with the Islamic State (ISIS), the hospitality of the people of Kurdistan for sheltering refugees and the resettlement of hundreds of thousands of people from all different components in Iraq and Syria.

 

In the meeting, opinions on the religious situation and the coexistence of the conflict in Kurdistan and the continuation of the cultural of coexistence were exchanged.

 

The political situation in Syria, the living conditions of the people, and the relations between the Kurdish political parties in Syria were another topic of the meeting.
