President Masoud Barzani welcomes the French Ambassador to Iraq

On Wednesday, February 2, 2022, President Masoud Barzani welcomed French Ambassador to Iraq, Éric Chevalier.

In the meeting attended by French Consul Olivier Decottignies in Erbil, the French ambassador to Iraq thanked President Barzani for his initiative for Iraq's political process and hoped it would remove obstacles. 

In the same meeting, regarding the situation in Iraq, President Barzani said that the best way for political parties to resort to political dialogue and understanding is to avoid violence.

The recent threats by ISIS terrorists were another focus of the meeting, and the French ambassador stressed the importance of continued cooperation of allies with the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces.
