A statement from a spokesperson for the Kurdistan Democratic Party

Following the political developments and the obstacles for the election of the president of Iraq, a candidate had been announced. 

 

In order to continue the constitutional steps in Iraq's political process, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) officially announces Mr. Rebar Ahmed Khalid, the Interior Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, as a candidate for the post of President of the Federal Republic of Iraq.
