President Masoud Barzani welcomes a delegation from the United States State Department

On Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in Salahaddin, President Masoud Barzani welcomed a delegation from the US State Department, consisting of Ms. Jennifer Gavito, Assistant Secretary of State, Matthew Tueller, the US Ambassador to Iraq and Robert Palladino, the US Consul General in Erbil, as well as a number of military and political advisers.

 

The meeting discussed the situation in Iraq, the latest political developments, the political process and solutions to overcome challenges and maintain stability.

 

At the meeting, emphasis was placed on the cooperation of the Kurdistan Peshmerga and Iraqi forces in the war on terror.

 

The visiting delegation reiterated that the stability of the Kurdistan Region is important to the United States and will continue to support to maintain its strong position and stability.

 

The situation in Syria and developments facing terrorism in the country were other topics of the meeting.
