President Masoud Barzani's message on the occasion of the 52nd Anniversary of the March 11th Agreement

 

The 52nd year anniversary of the March 11th Agreement was an important achievement of the Kurdistan People's Liberation Movement. 

 

As a result of the persistence and patience of the Kurdish people and the revolution, led by Leader Mustafa Barzani, the Iraqi regime was forced to formally acknowledge a part of our people's rights for the first time on March 11, 1970. 

 

On March 11, 1970, there was clear evidence and legitimate will of the Kurdish people to deny the enemies of the Kurdish people and their efforts to diminish our people. The March 11 Agreement was the product of the struggles and sacrifices of the Peshmerga and all other components of our society in Kurdistan. The struggle for reconciliation, partnership, justice and peace has continued and has come to fruition. 

 

It is true that after the 11th of March Agreement, the Iraqi regime broke the agreement but the willingness of our people continued and did not surrender, which led to greater achievements.

 

On the anniversary of the March 11 Agreement, we emphasize the peaceful message of the Kurdish people, reiterating that the will of the Kurdish people will not be broken under any circumstances and under any pressure, and that Kurdistan will not give up its freedom and rightful rights.
