President of Kurdistan-Region receives National Alliance delegation to discuss political situation in Iraq

President Massoud Barzani received a high-level delegation from the National Alliance to discuss a variety of specific problems of the general political situation in Iraq and the relationship between Kurdistan and the Iraqi government. The panel discussed the deep crisis affecting Iraq and how to deal with such crisis and administering solutions. The visiting delegation consisted of Deputy Head of the National Alliance and Iraqi MP Sheikh Khalid al-Attiya, Iraq’s Minister of Transport Professor Hadi al-Ameri, Mr Tariq Sitar, member of the political Bureau of the Islamic Da’wa party. In a second meeting with the commission on territorial positions with the Federal Government composed of Deputy Prime Minister of Iraq Dr Roj Nuri Shaways, Dr Fuad Masum, Head of the Kurdistan Alliance bloc, Chairman of Mass Change Serdar Abdullah, the Head of Islamic Union of Kurdistan bloc Mr Najib Abdullah and Dr Fuad Hussen, Head of President’s Office. The parties discussed the current crisis affecting the political process and how to find mechanisms for solutions to a range of outstanding problems. At the end of the meeting, both sides stressed the importance of continuity and expansion of the dialogue.
