On the occasion of the birthday of His Majesty King Willem Alexander of the Netherlands, the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Erbil organised a reception for the members of the diplomatic corps, KRG and political party officials in addition to the Kurdistani Dutch nationals in Erbil.
Live music was performance by Chris & Toni (Cuba/Ukraine) and Chopy Fatah (Dutch-Kurd).
The Netherlands has been in the forefront of assisting the Kurds and was among the first country to opened their doors and hearts to the first wave of Kurdish refugees after the collapse of the Kurdish Revolution in 1975.
Its country, government and people have played an important role in developing humanitarian and infrastructure projects in the Region. They have also played an important role during the fight against ISIS.
Their contributions to developing the infrastructure sector and strengthening security capabilities of the Region is still ongoing.
