Statement from the Kurdistan Democratic Party Cultural and Media Institute.

This afternoon, PKK fighters launched a missile attack on a broadcasting station of our agency in Bekher Mountain between Duhok and Zakho, which caused heavy damage to the building and equipment. It also stopped broadcasting of Duhok Radio and Duhok TV  Zakho, Dalal TV and several other radio stations and channels that broadcast their programs to the region through this statio

 

 While we strongly condemn this cowardly act, we declare that the targeting of our broadcasting station and media channels means nothing but fear of the PKK from the brave and honest voice of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) medi

 

 The PKK fighters' sterile attempt to suppress the voice of the righteous is to cover up their illegal activities and occupations in the Kurdistan Region.  A media broadcasting station is a symbol of civilization and progress in the Kurdistan Region and there is no excuse to target it. It is also obvious that their unjust act is a sign of the collapse and failure of the outdated programs and ideas of the group, which resorts to all inhuman and illegal acts to achieve their criminal and occupation goal

 

 We once again condemn this act and call on the PKK fighters to leave the Kurdistan Region and no longer cause threats and instabilit
