A Statement from the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party

The Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has expressed its dissatisfaction with the current political situation in Iraq.  It is clear that since the announcement of the results of the Iraqi elections held in October 2021 and the consequences, problems, complications and developments after the elections became an obstacle to the establishment of a new Iraqi government on a constitutional basis.

 In the interest of the country and to protect Iraq from the dangers it faces, we call on all political leaders in Iraq to be responsible for the current stage and call on all parties to take serious, necessary and urgent steps to conduct a productive and successful dialogue  On the basis of relying on the principles of the Iraqi constitution to save the country from the current stalemate.  Therefore, in order to carry out the reform process and real change and improve the current situation in Iraq can be agreed to hold early elections after all parties agree and promise to respect the final results of the election.
