Secretary of the KDP Political Bureau received the Russian Federation Ambassador to Iraq.

Secretary of the Political Bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) Fazil Mirani received Ambassador Elbrus Kutrashef, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq and Maxsm Rubin, Consul  General of the Federation in the Kurdistan Region and their accompanying delegation.

 Mr Mirani provided an update on the current situation and the latest developments of the Iraqi political process and relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Iraqi Federal Government stressing that without dialogue, mutual understanding and fulfilling national responsibilities, the Iraqi issues will not be resolved. He also added that at this juncture all the forces, parties and components must view political stability as their main task and priority and resolve the issues on the basis of the constitution.

The Russian Ambassador thanked the Secretary of the Political Bureau for the warm welcome and stressed that it is important to resolve all issues and crises through dialogue and emphasised that stability of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region is very important to the Russian Federation.

 The two sides also discussed the situation in the region and the long-standing relations between Russia and the Kurdistan Region.
