KDP delegation attend Socialist International conference

A Kurdistan Democratic Party delegation headed by Hemin Hawrami participated at the official invitation of a Socialist International conference in Suleymania on 12th April to discuss Kurdish matters.

In attendance with KDP’s Head of Foreign Relations Office, were a number of office members.

Socialist International General-Secretary Mr Louis Alaya, stressed, in a speech delivered at the conference, the importance of the meeting and the composition of the Committee, referring to Kurdish suffering and injustices suffered by the Kurdish people.

Mr Hawrami supports the formation of this Committee and its significance to the Kurdish issue, remarking KDP’s ‘strong’ friendship with Socialist International and other democratic organisations.

Mr Ayala referred to his previous meeting with President Massoud Barzani where they talked of the current situation in Kurdistan, economic and political progress while showing praise for the development of the region’s stability..
