President Barzani “Iraq’s problems can be resolved if there is genuine partnership”

President Masoud Barzani received U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Mr Steven Beecroft today for discussions on the current political situation in Iraq and efforts to move forward the political process.

The US Ambassador welcomed Kurdistan Region’s decision to end its boycott of Baghdad government and send back ministers and parliamentarians, expressing U.S. government support for this important step. 

Iraq’s Kurdish ministers and parliamentarians ended their boycott last week, following an agreement signed between KRG Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani and Iraqi Prime Minister Noori al-Maliki.

President Barzani expressed his hope that Iraq’s problems can be resolved if there is genuine partnership, power-sharing, and consensus-based decision making in the Iraqi government.
