President Barzani Receives the French Consul General in Erbil

During the meeting, Olivier Decottignies, the French Consul General, conveyed President Emmanuel Macron's greetings to President Barzani and praised his role in protecting the political process and the fate of the Kurdish people, considering it influential. He also expressed his gratitude to the Kurdish people and the Kurdistan Regional Government, and expressed his happiness in making many friends in Kurdistan. Furthermore, he praised the struggle, sacrifices, and efforts of the Kurdish people in their pursuit of freedom. He added that there is a desire within the French government, as well as among the people and public opinion, for France to be a friend and supporter of the Kurdish people's cause.

President Barzani thanked the French Consul General for his efforts and good work during his tenure in the Kurdistan Region, describing him as a good friend of himself and the Kurdish people. He also wished him success in his new position.

The internal situation in the Kurdistan Region was also discussed during the meeting.
