Joint Statement of the meeting between Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK)

The Political Bureaus of the Patriotic Union Kurdistan (PUK)  and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) convened in Sulaimani (Dabashan) to discuss the regional situation, with a particular focus on Iraq and Kurdistan. Both sides reasserted their commitment to safeguarding the Kurdistan Region's institutions and constitutional rights, and pledged to utilize all available resources to address the challenges facing the citizen's livelihood.

To further strengthen our collective efforts, both sides have unanimously agreed on the following points:

1. We wholeheartedly support the holding of Kurdistan Parliamentary elections, which will be scheduled by the President of the Kurdistan Region after consulting with all political parties in the region.

2. In our pursuit to serve the Kurdish people comprehensively, we pledge to set aside minor issues and differences and come together to collaboratively solve our common problems.

3. We have taken the decision to continue the process of reorganizing the Peshmerga forces.

4. Both parties have committed to supporting the agreements of the ninth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

5. In the spirit of Kurdish unity and patriotism, we are dedicated to maintaining regular bilateral meetings and coordination with all parties to foster closer relations and effectively overcome any obstacles.
